Information only

The site summarizes vehicle emissions testing rules and quotes the agencies' own words, with the date each source was checked. It is not legal advice and not an official government site. Rules, fees and deadlines change; the agency's current rules always win over anything here. Check with the agency before you rely on a requirement, an exemption or a deadline.

New York station figures

Station statistics are computed from the New York State DMV's public datasets on data.ny.gov. They describe past inspections; they are not a rating, review or endorsement of any business, and a fail rate depends heavily on the vehicles a station sees. We do not show hours or prices for individual stations: contact the station.

Accuracy and corrections

We work to keep the site accurate but cannot promise it is complete or current. If something is wrong, use the corrections page.

Use of the content

You may quote short passages with a link back. The underlying New York data is public and available from data.ny.gov under that portal's terms; the agencies' quoted words belong to them.
