Report a correction

Last updated October 7, 2026

Emissions rules change often: counties join or leave programs, fees move, and legislatures repeal programs. If a page is out of date, email contact@emissionstesting.net with the page address and, if you can, the agency page that shows the change.

How we correct a state page

  1. We fetch the agency page again and save a new copy of its text.
  2. We rewrite the affected fact and its quotation from the new copy. The build refuses any quotation that is not word for word in the saved copy.
  3. The page shows the new “checked” date next to the quotation.

How we correct New York station data

Station names, addresses and license dates come from the DMV's licensed facilities list, and the counts from DMV inspection records. We do not edit individual figures by hand. If the DMV data is wrong, the fix has to come from the DMV; if our processing is wrong, we fix the method and rebuild every page.

See the sources and method page for how each number is computed.
